In 1998 Dra. Martinez was awarded the Queen Sofia Prize for Research in Prevention of Deficiencies.  The Wulf family wrote to Her Majesty, the Queen, expressing their appreciation for the kindness of her country in allowing Matthew to be under the care of  Dra.
