In fifth grade Matthew declared that he could write a sonata.  Putting him to the challenge, we enrolled him in private piano lessons and to our pleasant surprise, he excelled!  As a gift his piano teacher provided him with the Finale music composition program, and Matthew was on his way to becoming a composer.   A hymn, The Song of My Music, was his first composition in 2010, and his twelfth, The Power of Faith, was finished in September of 2014.
